The Desktop reader EVO ID DESK 2000 is an extremely versatile read and write device, which works by using any RFID transponder (Smartcards, RFID Wristbands, Keyfobs). Whether used for access control, membership registration, as part of a POS system, or for e-payment, the reader is easy to handle. Members, visitors, and employees only need to place their RFID transponder close to the reading device. A multi-LED frame displays the status immediately.
The Desktop Reader is a compact and easy to use RFID reader. It may be connected to any PC, Laptop, or other USB port equipped device. Its compatibility with both Windows and Linux operation system enables integration into almost every system.
We optimized the Desk reader because of its popularity. The Reader got now an USB 3.0 port which enables the manual configuartion of two modes:
HID (Human Interface Device) Mode = Keyboard Emulation (QWERTY) (Read only)
With the HID mode, users may retrieve data from the transponders as keyboard emulation. The output may be set to various formats. The reader can read out serial numbers, along with information from user memory, as HEX or ASCII output format. The configuration may be done via a configuration tool which is compatible with Windows OS. The HID mode is perfectly suited for web applications in heterogeneous IT cloud environments.
VC Mode = Virtual COM Port (Full read and write access)
With the delivery of the ID DESK 2000, we provide a user-friendly software development kit (SDK) for Windows operating system, which is available for download on our homepage.
